Migrant voice, migrant housing solutions event – 25th July 2018

Brushstrokes has been working with local landlords and tenants from new communities over the past 2 years offering advice and support to improve awareness of housing rights, help sustain tenancies and develop a greater understanding of the needs of recent migrants and landlords in the private rented sector.

Brushstrokes would like to extend an invitation to you to come and hear about this project, their learning and the current challenges faced in the sector.

The event will be held at Brushstrokes, St Philips Parish Centre, Watt Street, Smethwick, B66 3DA from 6.00 pm on Wednesday 25th July 2018.

Looking for a tenant?

Apologies for the short notice but our friends at Brushstrokes; the charity which supports migrants is holding another event this Wednesday to look at housing issues for migrants. Landlords and migrants looking for a home are very welcome to attend.

I’ve been to the last two events and at both of them – Brushstrokes have been able to link up tenants who need landlords with landlords who need tenants!

So if you have an empty property you want filling – or are interested in how housing issues affect some of our different communities, please come along.

And I’m not sure about whether this counts as an attraction or not – but both myself and your other blog editor Liz Mooney (an expert in just about anything in the private renting field) will be there. So we can answer (or try to) any questions you might have on benefit changes and the various issues currently affecting landlords.

It’s at 5.00 pm this Wednesday 27th September.

The full address for the event is:

Hope to see you there.
