It’s a not-for-profit organisation set up by a group of social housing providers in the North of England to help people on low incomes get access to household appliances and furniture.
The idea is that the goods are sold at a discount and that any credit is at affordable rates. They work with credit unions to provide this. Although it was initially intended for social tenants – anyone who needs to can apply. So if you have a tenant who needs essential items but cant afford them or who might struggle to find affordable credit – this might be just what they need.
I have to put in the disclaimer that this is not a council or government service, so I can’t formally recommend it – its very much at your own risk, but it looks interesting. Our own local credit union Six Towns are helping promote it.
